Jug o’ Wine Saturday Night

Well, the Penguin’s lost. It was still a fun night though. I got to catch up with Gina which was a good time. Hoods up.

We had some snacks:

I had some carrots with hummus, some pretzels, some vegan non-cheese cheetos and a glass of wine. Carlo Rossi jug. Yes!

I honestly didn’t pay much attention to the Penguin’s game… Gina isn’t into hockey and we pretty much just chatted and took some unflatteringly pictures which I’m refusing to post. It’s still pretty early though I think I’m going to have a hard time sleeping tonight since I drank a giant cup of coffee around 7. Bad idea.

I just made some decaf Earl Grey now and I’m just sitting on the couch trying to become sleepy. Gina and I made a plan to go shopping tentatively next Saturday so I’ll finally be able to purchase a new scarf!

I think Andy is making brunch tomorrow morning so it’s looking like there will be an exciting breakfast meal.

Happy Saturday night all.

Relaxing Saturday and Fleury.

I just finally left the house for the first time today. It’s 6:42 PM. Andy and I had coffee and tea respectively this morning while watching the QED cooking shows. He, for some reason, likes Martin Yan. I do not. I like all of the other shows though usually. Now I’m not a huge fan (or fan at all really) of Lidia from Lidia’s Italy but her show was very interesting today. She was in Puglia which is near to my homeland! Yes that’s right. I can say that because I’m second generation I guess? My mother was born in Italy and my grandma is moving back for two years in May. Yep yep.

Here’s the coffee:

So I made eggs for breakfast/lunch today (it was noonish) and they kind of sucked but I ate them anyway. They were made with one whole egg, one egg white, one small diced onion, about 5 grape tomatoes and then I added some frozen peas/carrots/green beans that have been in my freezer forever. Bad move. The carrots burned and the green beans were gross. Oh well. I tried.

I was still hungry about an hour later so I roasted the very last of my broccoli and squash. Then I had the other piece of banana bread. mmm

Ohh I did walk up the street and buy a little milk because I wanted cereal. I ate two bowls of cereal for a sort of dinner. No picture, sorry. My meals were all messed up today because I slept in and then I also took a nap around 3. I also don’t have many groceries left so I’m just using up whatever is left. Tomorrow is also going to be questionable foodwise… I have nothing left except for the cubed tofu. I’m grocery shopping tomorrow evening though.

I’m going to a friend’s house tonight to watch the Penguin’s game and possibly drink a little wine. I’m excited! Gina is going to be there and I haven’t seen her in a lonnng time. Andy is going to a bar with Brian to also watch the Pen’s game. I’m not wearing my hoodie right now… If we lose, I can only blame myself.

If anyone sees this kid on the street let me know straight away.

I missed a day!

Well it’s Saturday. I missed out on blogging yesterday because I was too busy. The foods weren’t too interesting though so you aren’t missing much.

Foods of Yesterday

So here is what happens when you add too much water to oatmeal…

Oh well. I let it sit for a few minutes and it eventually absorbed. I also added corn flakes, cinnamon and craisins! Tasty but I CAN’T wait to buy more pumpkin. I’m going to buy the giant can.

I also had some coffee:

Around 11, I had the very last blood orange.

For lunch, I couldn’t decide what I wanted. We almost ordered food from Sub Med but then decided against it so I went back to my old standby, a salad from Bruegger’s. There was also a snow storm going on when I decided to head outside around 1pm. I was covered in snow and only walked a short block.

There were field greens, cucumber, green pepper, sprouts, blue cheese, more craisins and balsamic vinaigrette.

The work day wasn’t too bad. It was pretty quiet because a few people were on their way to the Super Bowl and it’s pretty typically quiet on Friday afternoons.

I left work and went to the gym because I hadn’t been there since Monday. I was feeling kind of tired too so I figured that would give me some energy for the party later.

I got on the treadclimber and did 30 minutes. That machine is hard. It said I burned 450 calories in the 32 minutes?? That doesn’t sound very accurate but it is a tough machine. Unfortunately, there isn’t a TV on those machines so I didn’t get to watch Ina (NO). Oh well. The exercise did wake me up but then I had to wait for a bus for like 25 minutes and that put me in a bad mood.

So I got home starving and ate some of Andy’s chocolate chip banana bread. This was about halfway through my piece. img_0724

I roasted butternut squash, broccoli and I cubed a sweet potato and added that. The sweet potato was the best. I love them. I don’t know why I never thought of roasting them in cubes before. I normally go the baked potato or sweet potato fries route.

After dinner, it was already 7:30 so I had to shower and get ready. Andy came over around 8:30 and we went to the party in the South Side. We’ve been to the South Side two weekends in a row. We’re taking about 3 months off from that. AH horrible.

The party was a good time though. I met some new people and their house was very interesting. It was full of old furniture and art and I LOVE old furniture. You’ll see in the Summer when I track down garage sales/yard sales/estate sales on the weekends and end up with all sorts of semi-useless things. My biscotti seemed to go over well too. I think there were only a couple left when we left. I liked them. Alright Giada, you win this time.

Oh also, I had two small glasses of red wine last night. No pictures because it was dark and my camera was in my coat pocket somewhere. When we got back to my house, I fell asleep on the couch then woke up about 20 minutes later and ate some craisins. I was kind of hungry. I told Andy not to tell anyone though because I wasn’t going to list it on here..haha. I did anyway though. Full disclosure for you guys.

So now it’s Saturday morning. I don’t have much planned for today. Maybe hanging out with Gina tonight. It’s been quite a while.
