Laziness

I only drank one cup of coffee today and had no tea. I also didn’t exercise. I gymed yesterday by the way. Anyway, I guess my body is used to more caffeine and more activity because I was just exhausted today. After the grocery store, I took a nap and then I’ve just been sitting around ever since. I just got off the phone with my mother. She’ll be in town in the middle of May, staying with me for the weekend. She’s coming up for a wedding and I’m going with her. Yes! I love weddings.

I didn’t eat anything exciting again for dinner. I had leftover roasted veggies from lunch and I had about half of this can of soup and a tortilla (not pictured).

Here are the veggies:

I also had three hard-boiled egg whites with honey mustard and Goya hot sauce. I’m not a huge fan of the Goya hot sauce. I like Cholula much better but I don’t want to waste the Goya. Unfortunately I accidentally threw away the lid so I’ve been keeping aluminum foil over the top. One of these days it’s going to spill.

I need to make my lunch for tomorrow. I think I’ll take the rest of that soup and then a salad or something. hmm. That’s about all for tonight.

Friday night’s foods should be interesting because I think we’re attending a potluck. Fun! I want to make a dessert. Andy doesn’t know this yet. I’m toying with the idea of banana cupcakes with Nutella buttercream and a banana chip on top. mmm

P.S. I finally corrected the date/times!

Breakfast, Lunch and Groceries

I was planning on making eggs this morning but I was too impatient because I didn’t have breakfast until 11 or so. I, of course, resorted to oats with pumpkin and Kashi Puffs. mmm. At some point I suppose I’ll get sick of this but it might take a while. When berries are in season, I’ll probably switch to that. I also had some coffee with butter pecan flavored cream.

Lunch was around 1 PM. I had roasted butternut squash, onion and broccoli. I haven’t been creative at all with the food lately. I go through phases.

Around 2, I headed out to the grocery store. It started snowing just as I was leaving. By the time I was driving home, the roads were somewhat covered. It’s still snowing right now. I didn’t really think there was going to be any accumulation today but whatever. I’m probably staying around here the rest of the day.

The grocery store was a terrible, TERRIBLE experience as usual. A car practically hit me in the parking garage and some guy cut me off as I tried to get into a check out lane. I let him go and got into the aisle next to him. He said, “We’ll see who wins.” I said, “whatever.” I’m such a jerk. He just looked at me. Don’t cut me off and then expect me to play along with your STUPID COMMENTS. I’m so angry sometimes.

I was in and out of the store pretty quickly. I also returned a movie and picked up dry cleaning and then came home.

Here is what I got at the store:

I spent $35.27 on that stuff. I also got a few other things like kitty litter, finally, and various household necessities so I ended up spending $58.99. $16.01 under my weekly budget! Don’t worry I’m sure I’ll stop at the store at some point this week and make up for it.

I’m thinking soup and salad for dinner. We’ll see.

Blog day off.

I took a blog vacation day yesterday. I wasn’t in the mood to blog and I didn’t really eat anything interesting. There was one thing that I feel is worth blogging about. I decided to roast broccoli along with my squash and onions. Has anyone ever roasted broccoli? I read about someone roasting broccoli on another blog and it seemed like a good idea. I normally steam it but since I’ve been constantly roasting squash… adding broccoli was nice and convenient. I’m continuing on with the frozen vegetable kick so I purchased some frozen broccoli.

I tossed everything in olive oil, salt and pepper and roasted at 400 degrees for about 22 minutes straight from the freezer. It was good good good. I recommend trying it. It’s got a different taste than steaming and it’s easy. I added some sriracha and low sodium soy sauce to mine.

I ate a bunch of other things yesterday and also had two Sierra Nevada’s at the Smiling Moose last night. We went to a show there last night. First of all, I hate the South Side. Second, I’m not really into the kind of music that we went to see so it didn’t turn out very well. We didn’t end up staying very long and I felt kind of bad. Andy and I have different tastes in music. Next time he thinks I might not like the music, I suppose I’ll take his advice.

We got back to my house around midnight or so and now it’s CBS Sunday Morning! I’m going to blog my grocery purchases today because I think that might be interesting plus maybe I’ll actually stay within my budget.
