Biscotti is plural.

The singular of biscotti is biscotto which, in Italian, refers to any biscuit or cookie.

I had some tea with milk and a blood orange for a snack this afternoon. I’m trying to make the orange pictures more interesting since I’ve been eating one or more pretty much every day. img_0648img_0647

I left work at 4 today and made it home really quickly. I ate some yogurt then started making the biscotti. I also finally remembered to wear my apron. YES! Here is my biscotti log pre-baking.

I just took the log out of the oven. IT GREW. It has to cool for 30 minutes and then I slice it and bake the slices for a little while longer. I’ll post the recipe in it’s entirety after I completely finish the biscotti so probably tomorrow.

My dinner is in the oven right now. Once that’s done, the biscotti go back in. My internet is kind of, sort of working but it’s really, really sensitive. I cannot move. Dinner might not be posted tonight because of this but it will be tomorrow.

Oh also, I’m going to have a coworker lunch guest blog coming up. It’s going to include everyone in my office who will let me take pictures of their lunch. Hahaha.

Posting from my desk

The internet isn’t great from my desk but I think I’ll be able to finish this post successfully. For breakfast this morning, I had oatmeal with cinnamon, sugar and corn flakes. It kept me full until 12:45 without a snack. Odd. I think it’s because I had all of that coffee this morning. It was too much coffee. My stomach felt a little odd for a bit.

For lunch, I just had the other half of the mini pizza. It’s so good. img_0644

I’m wearing beige tights today. Pushing the limits of bank attire everyday. img_0640

That’s about it for now. I’m still kind of hungry. I suppose I’ll eat my snack. Have a lovely afternoon.

My internet sucks. It’s an ice storm out there.

It’s bright and early today. I woke up around 5 AM this morning and couldn’t sleep. I watched the local news until 6. The local news is boring. AH. Then I showered and got ready and decided to head downtown early. This was partly because I haven’t been able to get on the internet at my house… So I’m sitting in Au Bon Pain drinking “Morning Blend” coffee and using their wifi.

First up, here are a couple of pictures from outside this morning. Everything is covered in ice.

Time to catch up on yesterday’s foods:

Breakfast was oats with the last of the pumpkin (no!), corn flakes and cinnamon. Close up this time.

Around 11:30, I had blood orange.

At 12:15, Andy brought me pizza! He used the leftovers from our pizza on Friday and made mini sage-butternut squash pizzas. I ate half of mine. The other is up for lunch today. I took a couple of bites then remembered to take a picture….

Oh I’ve just been spotted by a coworker. I’m in the very back corner hoping no one would walk in the back door of our building and see me. MAN.

I had yogurt at 4:30ish then left work at 5.

I stopped at the Italian grocery store on Liberty to get ingredients to make biscotti. I had printed a Giada recipe and just needed a few things. I got home and realized I didn’t bring home the recipe. No! Well, I figured I could just bring it up on my laptop and have the laptop on the counter in the kitchen. No again! My internet wasn’t working. Apparently the biscotti were not meant to be… I will make them tonight instead.

For dinner yesterday, I made a salad — sweet butter lettuce, grape tomatoes, red onion, green bell pepper and craisins(!) that were purchased for the biscotti. The dressing consisted of balsamic vinegar, olive oil, honey mustard, salt and pepper all mixed well together. It was very good but I put too much on the salad and it was drowning.

Here’s the salad:

I also had a tortilla along with the salad and some yogurt with a whole bunch of rolled oats mixed in.

Last night was kind of disappointing. I really wanted to make the biscotti but it just wasn’t meant to be. I finished Number the Stars the other day. It would have been good if I were about 10. As a 24 year old, I wanted more. I’m almost done with Wasted too. Stupid book. I hate you.

I’m running out of time before work. Here’s a picture of the coffee and my laptop this very moment.

Let’s all hope my internet works when I get home. I use the term my loosely.
