Wild & Wonderful & Big News!
November 13, 2009I have officially decided that I’m going to get back into blogging regularly again. I’m going to start photographing my food again and posting on a daily basis. What’s happened lately is I keep putting off blogging for a few days and then I have SO many pictures and events to relay that I just get overwhelmed and don’t do it. Times are changing my friends.
First up, you want to hear the big news that I’ve been mentioning in the last couple of posts???
Start reading, it’s actually in this post!
Last Saturday, November 7th, 2009, Aaron and I took a drive to West Virginia, specifically, Coopers Rock State Park. It was one of the most beautiful days all year — 68ish degrees and sunny.
West Virginia:

Fall in the Northeast!

Aaron:

Me:

Totally posed:

Look at the sky! Seriously beautiful day.

So basically the day consisted of hanging out on this overlook and taking pictures of ourselves and then grabbing our packed picnic lunch and trying to find what Aaron described as giant rocks that you walk through.… I’ll believe it when I see it Aaron….

Please notice the dead bug to the right of Aaron’s finger:

Okay so after the overlook, we took off down a trail in the woods for a lonnnng time. Along the way I started to get grumpy because uhhh I get really grumpy when I’m hungry. We also learned that I’m not graceful at all. I kept tripping over things while talking about how I never ever want to go camping. I wouldn’t really consider myself a camper…
Anyway, we finally found a giant rock (not one of the aforementioned rocks of “Rock City”) but a big rock nonetheless. We decided to climb up and have our picnic on there. We ate our pb&j sandwiches and then I started eating an apple and Aaron said, “I have something for you.” Uhh. Okay, what?? And then…he pulled out a ring. AH. AHHH. I stared at him for a long time with my mouth open. He asked me to marry him. I didn’t respond for a minute. I think I scared him. I think I was in shock. shock shock shock. I eventually said yes, handed him my apple and took the ring.
Sooo the big news = AARON & I ARE ENGAGED!

That’s pretty big news right??
We were both pretty happy the rest of the day:

We eventually found Rock City and I wasn’t so grumpy. Full of peanut butter and jelly and you know… ENGAGED.

Soooo there you have it. We’ve been engaged for a week now! It looks like the date is going to be June 26th, 2009. Soon, right? Well, let’s just say Aaron and I have been discussing this for a little while now and we had already gone to look at a wedding venue prior to the engagement so it wasn’t a HUGE surprise but still. So basically, this blog may turn into a bit of a wedding blog for the next six months.
We went to look at the wedding venue (a farm in Leechburg) again this past Sunday and decided to book it this week! Want to see a picture?
The reception will be in this barn:

And the ceremony will (weather-permitting) take place here:

Their pictures are better so maybe check out the website if you’re interested. Okay that’s about it.
Oh wait, want to see the dress that I love?

I have 7 months to track down something like this.
It’s Friday now. I’ve had the FLU all week so I’ve been lying around for WAY too long being ridiculously bored. I’m hoping to feel better by Sunday because if I don’t run soon, I might cry.
Have a GREAT weekend everyone!!!!
By the way, my new initials will be PB. This is pretty sweet.

I hope you feel better.. Im so excited for you:)
Thanks! Ohhh I’ll have to post a picture of your future bridesmaid dress… Don’t worry. It’ll be AWESOME.
MAJOR CONGRATULATIONS!!!
P.S. – I’m praying that you’re 100% over the flu as soon as possible!
Thank you thank you! I’m still under the weather which is lame but excited about everything else!
CONGRATULATIONS! Cooper’s Rock is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. It’s fantastic that such an amazing place will hold such fond memories for you. Well done!
Get well soon!
i went to a wedding at that exact spot in leechburg last summer and it is absolutely beautiful.
I come here for the recipes. Stop wasting our time with the banal minutia of your daily life Pamela…
Seriously though, such big news and I’m excited for you! Can’t wait to catch up next time I’m in town.
