Mental Health Day 2010!

Today has been declared MENTAL HEALTH DAY 2010!!!

I took a vacation day today. I’ve been a wee bit stressed lately…. new job responsibilities…wedding…moving…. plus tomorrow is my birthday(!) so I’m home today. And it’s AWESOME!

Here’s what I’ve been doing lately.

I ran home from work in the rain last week. Mascara fail:

I took some pictures of myself before work in case you were wondering what I typically wear. Business formal is the attire I believe in my office. I wear lots of black and gray.

Aaron and I had fish fry last Friday from Immaculate Conception Church. I had the baked fish dinner:

Aaron had fried:

And I added a little salad to mine:

I’d recommend maybe checking out a different fish fry in the Pittsburgh area if you’re looking. This one wasn’t bad..just not awesome.

Saturday night, it snowwwwed more. Freaking lame. We ventured out anyway because Aaron is fearless about driving in the snow while I scream and cover my eyes in the passenger seat. TEN YEARS of driving a rear wheel drive sports car in the snow will do that to you…

We decided to go to Pizza Fusion for dinner. This little pizza place is in Gibsonia on route 8. There moto is “Fresh, Organic, Earth-Friendly.”

The dining room was nicely decorated and simple. They had cloth napkins and college basketball on the TV. Weird combination. Aaron ordered coffee and got this cool little spoon.

They also brought us bread sticks with marinara! They were GOOD though Aaron wasn’t as impressed as I was.

Hmmm

We ordered the spinach and artichoke pizza on multigrain crust. It was pretty good. It wasn’t amazing. I liked the thin, multigrain crust because it had seeds and was pretty tasty. The pizza wasn’t too flavorful though and I would have liked more toppings. I’m glad we got to try it though! I think we’ll probably stick to making our own at home though.

A little while ago, I won an Aurorae yoga mat giveaway on Hangry Pants and it came the other day!!!! I was sooo excited!!

Ummm Aaron had just picked me up from the gym.

This yoga mat is much thicker than my piece of junk one and longer and stickier so I won’t fall down as much.

Aaron’s into yoga.

As is the Bow:

Alright I’m off to commence Mental Health Day ’10. On the agenda:

  • breakfast oats + Today Show
  • being a yogi master for about 20 minutes
  • shopping for a new work skirt
  • thrift store to fill my cupboards with MORE mugs
  • clean up the apartment
  • show tonight at The Thunderbird with Aaron

Have a good day friends!! Last day of being 25!!!!!!

  1. 1. I wanna try Pizza Fusion! I’ve been meaning to for ages.

    2. You’re still 25! I always forget you’re slightly younger than me.

    3. Happy early birthday! I am jealous of your mental health day in a serious way.

  2. Happy (almost) birthday! Enjoy your day off from business dress (ahh) and routine!

That yoga mat sounds perfect… I know that some people love yogitoes towels for grip (I refuse to pay $50 for a yoga towel!), but I think that just having the right yoga mat does the trick!

  3. Happy Mental Health and Birthday!

I’ve heard about the Pizza Fusion in Gibsonia, but that is kind of far for Jared and I. At least it’s healthy-ish.

  4. In reply to your comment on my blog about wedding music: we are getting married at an old historic church with only 14 pews on each side of the aisle. They have an historic 1823 pipe organ, so it doesn’t have as many keys as a modern piano/organ. Our music choices are limited by the organ. He’s going to play a classical music medley for 20 minutes before the ceremony; for processional we chose Trumpet Tune in C (Purcell) (there’s only me and one bridesmaid); recessional is Ode To Joy arr. by Hal Hopson. If we need something else during the ceremony, we’ll figure it out at the rehearsal!
