Good Morning!
It’s 8:56 AM right now, Sunday morning. Aaron is still upstairs sleeping and I’m sitting downstairs reading blogs and thinking about what I’m going to do today.
Things that might happen today include:
- finishing a million tags for a cake pop order for a wedding
- baking a red velvet test cake
- going to the gym
- grocery shopping
- thinking about what I can do with 15 zucchini
I haven’t blogged in a little while because Aaron and I have been pretty busy working on the kitchen. I have been doing a bit of spray painting though. I LOVE spray paint. I have to avoid the spray paint aisle at Home Depot or I will inevitably come home with a can.
I bought this window at Construction Junction a couple of weeks ago and finally got to sanding and painting it. Most of the paint was already off the window so I just sanded to smooth the rough edges.
Here is the before picture:

I covered the panes with newspaper and tape them. See that picture in the background? This window is taking over that spot right now. I didn’t like that old print and thought it was too small for that space.
Pink tank top. Tag out.

A couple coats of “yellow squash” by Rustoleum and done.

I sanded the edges a bit to distress it. And still managed to get paint on the glass which I’m going to scrape off with a razor blade.
We were also dog-sitting that weekend.
This is my coworker’s dog, Maddie.
I’m not going to post the whole before and after of the kitchen yet because it’s not quite finished but here is a before picture.
The yellow’ed polyurethane cabinets, the cabinets and doors that didn’t quite close, and the rigged up with a piece of wood undermount sink that was just sitting on top of the counter.

Maddie didn’t mind at all as the kitchen went from this:

To this. Goodbye yellow plastic tile! Sort of. We still have it on the rest of the walls but you know.

The ultimate plan for the kitchen is for it to look something like this:

I have a few other inspiration pictures that I’ve Pinned in the last couple of weeks on my boards on Pinterest. Anyone else on Pinterest? I am hooked. By the way, follow me(!) if you like seeing pictures of French Country home ideas.
Alright time to get some more coffee and start the day. By the way, we picked our first ripe tomato yesterday from the garden! We also picked two of the tiniest strawberries ever.
Have a nice Sunday !
My dog is a star! Thanks for including Maddie!
